Personal Insurance Federation of California Helping California Fire Victims
The extreme heat, coupled with humidity, winds and an abundance of dry brush cover are perfect ingredients for serious wildfires in California this fire season. The Personal Insurance Federation of California (PIFC), an insurance trade association representing insurers that provide coverage for more than half of the homes and vehicles in California, says that their member companies are helping their policyholders who were threatened or have suffered damage from the recent fires in Yucca Valley, San Bernardino and Northern California.
“Claims personnel of PIFC member companies — State Farm Insurance Companies, Farmers Insurance Group, Safeco Insurance Company, 21st Century Insurance Group and The Progressive Group of Companies — are on constant alert during the fire season and are prepared to move into any area threatened by fire to assist their policyholders if a disaster strikes,” said Rex Frazier, PIFC president.
Below is a list of instructions on how PIFC policyholders who have suffered a fire loss can contact their insurance company directly to receive help with filing a new claim or to get information if they have already filed a claim.
*State Farm Insurance Companies: Please call your State Farm agent for immediate help.
*Safeco Hotline: 1-800-332-3226
*Progressive Direct and Drive Insurance from Progressive: Please call 1-800-PROGRESSIVE (1-800-776-4737), available 24/7 for claims reporting.

“Claims personnel work directly with their policyholders on a one-on-one basis to settle claims in an efficient manner. Their goal is to help those who have suffered losses from fire resume their lives as quickly as possible,” Frazier concluded.
