Fraud Disaster Task Force Formed in Wake of Disaster
California Insurance Commissioner Steve Poizner, San Diego District Attorney Bonnie Dumanis and San Diego Sheriff Bill Kolender’s Office announced the creation of a special task force to fight fraud. This task force continues the Department’s collaboration with local authorities to take decisive action to protect survivors from October’s wildfires.
This Disaster Fraud Task Force is comprised of representatives from the following agencies: the California Department of Insurance Fraud and Investigation divisions, San Diego County District Attorney’s Office, Department of Homeland Security, Office of Inspector General, California State Contractors License Board, California Department of Labor Standards Enforcement, San Diego County Sheriff’s Department, San Diego Police Department, California Office of Emergency Services, California Department of Motor Vehicles, California Attorney General’s Office, National Insurance Crime Bureau.
