Kotarba to Retire; McPartland Named Golden Eagle President, CEO
Golden Eagle Insurance, a Liberty Mutual Agency Markets regional company, appointed Pete McPartland to president and CEO.
McPartland comes to Golden Eagle Insurance from General Casualty in Sun Prairie, Wis., where he led insurance operations for QBE Regional Insurance as chief operating officer. He succeeds Frank Kotarba, who announced his retirement last week following eight successful years in which he led the company to more than triple its property and casualty business in California between 2000 and 2007.
“Frank has been the driving force behind Golden Eagle’s growth in commercial lines premium and market share, and its well-earned reputation as a consistent and innovative company. It’s a testament to his leadership that some of our current regional company presidents have come through Golden Eagle,” said Scott R. Goodby, executive vice president, Agency Markets, and chief operating officer, Regional Companies.
McPartland joined General Casualty in 1994 and has served in several senior executive capacities. He has extensive experience in underwriting, marketing, and field management. He is currently on the board of directors for the Workers’ Compensation Research Institute based in Cambridge, Mass. He also serves on the boards of Meriter Health Services and Physicians Plus Insurance Corp., both in Madison, Wis.
