Cheyenne Civic Center Damaged by Wyoming Rainstorm
The Cheyenne Civic Center sustained an estimated $500,000 in damage from a flash flood caused by a heavy rainstorm.
Civic Center Executive Director Dru Rohla says about 500,000 gallons of rainwater flooded the building’s basement from a storm that dropped two inches of rain.
The basement contained expensive electrical equipment, a baby grand piano and the boiler room.
The theater area itself was not damaged, but two scheduled events were canceled.
