Oregon has recorded four compensable fatalities available for workers’ compensation benefits for the second quarter of 2009, compared with nine fatalities the same period in 2008, according to the state’s Department of Consumer and Business Services.

In its Quarterly Fatality Report for the second quarter of 2009, DCBS noted that the fatalities occurred in the construction; wholesale trade;
administrative and support and waste management and remediation services; and truck transportation industries, as classified by the North American Industry Classification System.

DCBS said the Quarterly Fatality Report presents preliminary until the final count is released in the spring of next year.
