Blaze Guts Modesto Building, Causes $1M in Damage
A three-alarm blaze has gutted a commercial building in Modesto, Calif., that is home to about 20 businesses.
Modesto Fire Department investigator Doug Machado says the fire broke out shortly after midnight Sunday Aug. 2, and was put out about 35 minutes later, but not before it caused at least $1 million in damage.
The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
Businesses in the building included a Farmers Insurance Group office and a driving school.
