$200K Settlement in Portland Abuse Case
Attorneys for two 5-year-old girls who were molested at their Portland, Ore., day-care center say they have negotiated $200,000 in settlements with the facility’s insurance company.
David Daniel Moore has pleaded guilty to sexually abusing the girls when they were 4 years old and he was working as a teacher at Angela’s Academy. The 23-year-old Moore was sentenced in July to 17 years in prison.
The Oregonian reports that attorneys Josh Lamborn and Randall Vogt were able to negotiate $100,000 as the policy limit for each girl under the day-care center’s insurance policy. Lamborn says Moore also could have been held liable, but the court determined he is indigent.
