Nevada Apartments Damaged by Strong Wind Gusts
Authorities say about 100 people are looking for another place to live after a sudden gust of wind ripped the roof from one apartment building during a thunderstorm and sent it crashing into another.
A 2-year-old boy was grazed by flying debris but wasn’t seriously hurt in the 1:45 p.m. Sunday squall at the buildings northwest of downtown Las Vegas.
The boy’s father, Edgar Serrano, tells KLAS-TV that a window shattered and the boy received cuts on his lip and face.
The American Red Cross of Southern Nevada is helping residents.
The property manager says it could take a couple of days to repair the roof.
