4 Hospitalized After Rock Fall at Colorado Amphitheatre
Seven people were injured by falling rock at the Red Rocks Amphiteatre that is framed by iconic 300-foot rocks.
KMGH-TV cites a witness that says the rock fall happened on Creation Rock, the monolith on the north side. Ship Rock flanks the amphitheatre’s south side.
Denver police spokesman Detective John White says four people were transported to hospitals. He did not know the severity of their injuries. Three others suffered minor injuries.
The incident happened at about 1 a.m. Sunday during a concert by the rock band Sound Tribe Sector 9. White says the fall appears to be accidental but remains under investigation.
