Denver Disciplines Emergency Call Operators
Denver authorities have disciplined 17 employees and fired one over delays in responding to calls.
In one instance, a man called 911 when someone broke into his home last November and no police officers responded.
Denver 911 emergency operations manager Ernest Franssen tells to KMGH-TV there was no excuse for the delay responding to the break-in. The department says it changed procedures in January to improve service.
