Arizona Man Sentenced for Stealing Saguaros
A Scottsdale, Ariz., man has been sentenced to pay restitution of $32,000 and spend eight months of weekends in jail plus five years of probation for stealing cactus from federal land in 2010.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office for Arizona says 46-year-old Kenneth Brian Cobb took eight saguaro from federal land near Wickenburg and sold them.
Cobb was sentenced Monday in U.S. District Court in Phoenix.
He pleaded guilty last September to theft of government property and a violation of the Endangered Species Act.
