Colorado Flood Victims Hit With Lease Penalties
Many flood victims from Lyons, Colo., who signed short-term leases for temporary housing can now return home, but it could cost them if they break their leases.
Renters paid a premium for a 90-day lease at some apartments after the September floods, but found out this weekend that utilities had been restored in Lyons months earlier than expected.
According to KMGH-TV, that could be bad news for some people who could be forced to pay two months’ rent to break their temporary leases.
