‘Bait Bikes’ Used by Sacramento Police to Lure Thieves
Sacramento, Calif., police are using bikes outfitted with GPS tracking devices as bait to lure bike thieves.
The Sacramento Bee reports that one of the bikes was stolen around 3:30 p.m. Saturday and tracked to an area across the river in West Sacramento. A 40-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of grand theft, possession of stolen property and being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm.
Sacramento police say the so-called bait bikes are a great tool to reduce bike theft.
