California Police Recover $85K in Stolen Bikes
Police in Northern California have recovered $85,000 worth of stolen bikes.
Folsom police discovered the bikes on Monday after a sting operation. Police say the suspect, 36-year-old Ishkan Amirkhanyan, showed up with two stolen bikes.
A subsequent search of his Citrus Heights home allegedly turned up an additional 15 stolen bikes. All the bikes were in a trailer that was taken from a Folsom-area bicycle store in April.
Folsom is located about 20 miles northeast of Sacramento.
The bicycles, made by the company Trek, are valued at about $5,000 each.
Amirkhanyan was booked into Sacramento County jail on suspicion of possession of stolen property.
