Washington Drunken Driver Caused $18,000 Damage at Drive-Thru
Police in the southwest Washington city of Kelso say an intoxicated driver caused at least $18,000 damage in the drive-thru lane at a Jack in the Box restaurant, hitting shrubs and sideswiping a menu board.
According to The Daily News of Longview, a police report says the female driver backed her Geo Tracker into the drive-thru lane Monday afternoon, crossing over a median and into a water meter and shrubs. Police say the vehicle also sideswiped the menu board and nearly ripped the menu off its metal pole.
Police say employees detained the driver, who reportedly fought with them and tried to bite them.
Records show 21-year-old Sarah Ann Godfrey of Kelso was arrested for investigation of DUI, fourth-degree assault, driving with a suspended license and malicious mischief.
