More Insured Drivers in Wyoming
A new study finds that about 35,800 motorists, or 8.7 percent, are uninsured in Wyoming.
The study by the Insurance Research Council says Wyoming has the 13th lowest uninsured rate in the nation.
Nationally, 12.6 percent of U.S. motorists don’t have proper liability insurance.
By comparison, neighboring Colorado has the ninth highest rate of uninsured motorists. In fact, uninsured drivers in Colorado outnumber Wyoming’s entire population.
The Wyoming Tribune Eagle reports that it’s not entirely clear why some states like Wyoming see better insurance participation rates than other states.
The study used data collected from 2012.
