Arizona Extends Wait for Retaking Drivers License Test
People who fail Arizona’s written or road tests for a driver’s license will have to wait longer before they can retake either test.
The Motor Vehicle Division says safety was the motivation for its decision to increase the wait time for retesting to at least seven days, up from one day.
MVD Director Stacey Stanton says officials hope the long waiting period will encourage people to take plenty of time to study the driving manual and to practice their driving skills before trying the tests again.
The current passing rate for the written test is approximately 50 percent, while the passing rate for road tests is approximately 75 percent.
