January 4, 2012 by

Walnut Creek, CA, 12/08/11 – The Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation (IICF) will make use of the new technologies available through the Virtual Insurance Marketplace to bring the organization’s philanthropic message to independent agents.

Hank Haldeman, Executive Vice President and IICF Board member remarked, “I’m excited to see the IICF team up with, and participate in, the Virtual Insurance Marketplace. It’s a great venue to broaden the awareness of the unique and valuable role of the Foundation in our industry, while helping to inform IICF members of this new electronic forum.”

The Virtual Insurance Marketplace, February 8-10, 2012, is an industry tradeshow that takes place entirely online. The Virtual Insurance Marketplace format enables the IICF to interact with attendees in real-time. It also provides a platform to tell the Foundation’s story through video, slide shows and brochures.

“The IICF is excited to share our mission of helping communities and enriching lives with our industry’s independent agents,” commented Melissa-Anne Duncan, IICF Director of Development and Partner Relations. “The Virtual Insurance Marketplace is an innovative concept that offers a cost effective means of sharing information and bringing the industry together.”

The IICF serves as the united philanthropic voice of the insurance industry by combining its collective strengths to provide grants, volunteer service and leadership. Since its inception in 1994, the IICF has contributed over $17 million and 155,000 volunteer hours to community nonprofits.
