1 Killed, 1 Injured in Separate Upstate New York Construction Accidents
One man is dead and another is injured after separate accidents at two Albany, New York-area construction sites.
Police in Glenville, just outside Schenectady, say 55-year-old Mitchell Draina of Ballston Lake was struck in the head by the tree he was cutting down Monday afternoon. He was taken to a Schenectady hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Police say Draina was clearing trees from a lot for a housing development.
In the other incident, police say 32-year-old Timmy Billington of Scotia was hurt when he got wedged under a paving machine he was working on at an industrial park in Glenville. Two co-workers freed him from the paver.
Billington was reported in fair condition at Albany Medical Center.
