Man Charged with Setting Fires in Delaware Development
A 33-year-old man faces arson charges for allegedly setting fire to two model homes in a new development outside Milton, Delaware
State fire marshals arrested Victor Rodriguez of Milton. No one was injured in the fires, which were set early Friday and caused $600,000 in damage.
Assistant State Fire Marshal Richard Ward says Rodriguez has no connection to anyone who bought homes in the Heritage Creek development or to the builder, Schell Brothers. Ward says Rodriguez “just likes to set fires.”
Ward says the fires are not related to an April 13 arson at a home under construction in another development, or to a fire that broke out the same day at a hotel under construction.
A Schell Brothers spokeswoman says the company was pleased to hear of the arrest and plans to rebuild the models.
