Vermont Police Say Cause of Lumber Yard Fire Unknown
A Vermont State Police fire investigator says the cause of a fire that destroyed a storage building at a Shelburne lumber yard may never be known, but it is not considered suspicious.
No one was injured in the fire at the Rice Lumber Company off U.S. Route 7, which was reported just before 2 a.m. Tuesday by a passing motorist.
The fire completely destroyed the storage building and a truck parked next to it. But the fire was contained to one building and the lumber company will be able to stay open for business.
