Risk Management Symposium to Explore, Address Risk Issues; Set for Chicago April 26-27
A symposium on enterprise risk management (ERM), sponsored by four organizations with leading experts in the field, will be held April 26-27 at the Renaissance Hotel, Chicago.
The ERM Symposium will explore and address risk issues common to various disciplines, and provide insights into such areas as banking, property/casualty insurance and life/health insurance. The event is being sponsored by the Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS), the Society of Actuaries (SOA), The Professional Risk Managers’ International Association (PRMIA) and Georgia State University.
The symposium targets all risk management professionals, including chief financial officers, chief actuaries, risk managers, investment professionals, ALM practitioners and actuaries interested in or practicing in risk management roles. It offers financial service industry and risk professionals an exceptional opportunity to broaden their skills in the dynamic area of ERM.
More than 30 sessions on risk management strategies, modeling, risk metrics and capital management, among other topics, will be featured.
A highlight will be a general session featuring a discussion by chief risk officers. The presenters will provide in-depth discussions on ERM frameworks and share their expert insights on important strategic and implementation issues confronting the industry. Harry Panjer, professor, University of Waterloo, will moderate the session. Panelists will include: James Lam, president, James Lam & Associates, Luc Henrard, general manager and chief risk officer, the Fortis Group, and Robert Mark, president and CEO, Black Diamond Inc.
The fee for the symposium is $795 for active CAS, SOA, and PRMIA members, CAS and SOA actuarial candidates, and CAS subscriber/affiliates, if received on or before April 9. The fee is $945 for persons not affiliated with CAS, SOA or PRMIA, if received on or before April 9. Fees increase $50 after this date.
