Ohio Trio Charged in Arson Case
Gregory White, United States Attorney for the Northern District of Ohio, announced that a federal grand jury sitting in Cleveland returned a five count indictment charging Michael R. Clymer, age 20, of Berea, Ohio; Alexander C. Meadows, age 18, of Parma Heights, Ohio; and Robert Calabrace, age 19, of Berea, Ohio, with violating federal laws.
The indictment alleges that Clymer and Meadows maliciously damaged commercial property by arson. The arson involved a Berea business which was damaged by the fire.
The indictment also alleges that Clymer and Calabrace possessed unregistered firearms and that Clymer unlawfully transferred a handgun to a juvenile. Further, the indictment alleges that Clymer and Calabrace conspired to assault two undercover officers during the performance of their duties.
If convicted, each defendant’s sentence will be determined by the Court after review of factors unique to this case, including each defendant’s prior criminal record, if any, the defendant’s role in the offense, and the characteristics of the violation. In all cases the sentence will not exceed the statutory maximum and in most cases it will be less than the maximum.
