New Iowa Flood Relief Programs for Small Businesses Approved
The Rebuild Iowa Office says federal authorities have recently approved two new recovery assistance programs aimed at helping small business owners recover from flooding in 2008.
The office detailed the programs on May 5. The first is the Equipment Reimbursement Assistance Program, which is available to provide money to eligible businesses that owned their own building or leased space during the flooding.
The other program is the Flood Insurance Reimbursement Program, which provides money to reimburse eligible businesses for one year of flood insurance.
According to the Rebuild Iowa Office, the Iowa Department of Economic Development created the programs. The programs received approval from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
