Insurance Company Laying Off 113 in Nebraska
An insurance company is closing a call center in Lincoln, Neb., and laying off more than 100 people.
The Lincoln Journal Star reports QBE North America will close the call center on May 10 and eliminate 113 jobs.
The Lincoln office was part of QBE subsidiary Sterling National, which provides hazard and flood insurance as well as services for lenders.
QBE officials recently said last year was a difficult one for the company because of the widespread drought and damage from Superstorm Sandy.
Last summer, QBE also closed a claims office in Lincoln and cut 13 jobs.
