Weather Decision Technologies Announces New Hail Data Mobile App
Weather Decision Technologies announced a new mobile product designed to provide claims adjusters and insurance administrators the ability to track and report hail fall sizes.
HailSpot is an intuitive tool available on smartphones designed to obtain accurate, immediate data regarding size and date of hail fall for an exact address from the weather database maintained by WDT in Norman, Okla.
The product utilizes built-in smartphone location services to automatically geo-locate the device and indicate with a pin, an exact location or address.
Enter a claim number, insured, and/or date of loss into the app and instantly query over 10 years of hail data from WDT to pinpoint the exact date of loss, thus determining if hail damage could have occurred prior to insurance coverage.
Append reports to a claim file or share with a property owner, contractor or carrier.
“I’ve been involved in the independent claims adjusting business for over 13 years. During those years I’ve handled countless hail claims for residential and commercial properties and experienced many emerging technologies designed to streamline the claims process,” said Jeff Nachreiner, president, Property Loss Specialists. “The latest and most significant development in our industry has arrived!”
HailSpot, when utilized in conjunction with HailSpot Console, allows a field adjuster to make recommendation for replacement, repair or denial of a claim. The recommendation is then published to a map in relation to color-contoured hail swath data for internal insurance claim management use.
The app is available at no cost from the App Store on iPhone at imap.tv/hailspot.
