TDI Issues Statement on N.Y. Attorney General Probe
The Texas Department of Insurance released the following statement regarding the investigation by the attorney general of New York into the business practices of certain brokers and insurers:
“The Texas Department of Insurance is aware of the developments in New York alleging improper pricing and sales practices by some brokers and insurers and is actively looking into the matter. As always, we will vigorously enforce our laws and take whatever action is appropriate after our investigation is concluded. At this point, we have no further comment.”
TDI noted that complaints relating to this or any other insurance matter should be registered with the department. Complaints may be registered online via the TDI Web site.
