Anchor Claims Management Expands Client Base

October 28, 2004

Carrollton, Texas-based Anchor Anchor Claims Management Inc., (ACM), an affiliate of the Combined Independent Agencies, announced that it is expanding its client base to include certified self-insurers, and self-funded school districts and municipalities. Anchor Claims provides third party administration (TPA) services for workers’ compensation markets.

During the past seven years, Anchor Claims has provided carrier/treaty TPA services for a broad spectrum of clientele including the general labor market, construction services, hospitals, school districts and medical health professionals for fully funded programs or large deductible accounts. Building on the success of its programs for such diversified organizations, the company is now offering TPA services for certified self-insurers, self-funded school districts and municipalities that are required to select a qualified claims servicing contractor.

“We have established relationships with several clients while handling treaty business for multiple insurance carriers”, said Lynn Berg, president, Anchor Claims. “Given the current market, many of our clients have opted to pursue self-funding, and we are now offering direct TPA services to meet the needs of our clients, and to offer more choices to self-funded insureds in Texas and Oklahoma”.

Anchor Claims offers a complete claims administration program that
includes services such as litigation management, subrogation recovery, and fraud investigation and referral. The company also provides individualized services that can be contracted separately or in combination with its claim administration program. Such services include independent claim reviews and audits and nurse case management.

Other company services are loss prevention programs through Anchor Risk Management Services Inc. and telephonic case management through its in-house affiliate, Case Integration Administrators (CIA).

Anchor Claims has also partnered with the National Alliance for Insurance Education and Research to assist in the development of a certification program for Texas School Risk Managers. The conference will be held in April 2005, in the greater San Antonio area.

Details of the conference will soon be available on the company’s Web site, www.anchor-claims.com.
