Tulane University Launches Disaster Management Academy
New Orleans’ Tulane University is launching a disaster management leadership academy.
The school says the program will offer doctoral level training in international disaster management. It also will provide certificate- and master’s degrees in disaster management.
Tulane President Scott Cowen called the program unique in its global reach and timely, citing large displacements of people worldwide due to such things as war and natural disasters.
Tulane was devastated by Hurricane Katrina nearly four years ago.
