Woman Charged With Stealing From Oklahoma Farm Bureau
A former secretary with the Oklahoma Farm Bureau is charged with embezzling from the organization.
The Oklahoma Insurance Department says 31-year-old Bonnie Maloy allegedly wrote checks to herself from the Farm Bureau’s account. Part of the Farm Bureau’s role is to provide insurance.
The Insurance Department didn’t reveal how much money was allegedly taken. The agency said investigators found that Maloy allegedly falsified records bu using fake invoices for office supplies and other expenses.
Those entries matched with bookkeeping software, which made the improper deductions harder to catch.
The department revoked Maloy’s customer service license in March and says she is charged with five counts each of embezzlement and using a computer to commit a felony.
It was unclear whether she had an attorney or had been booked into jail.
