Shreveport Police Release 2012 Crime Stats
Shreveport, La., police responded to more shoplifting calls than any other crime in 2012.
Residential burglaries, thefts from a residence and thefts from a vehicle were other most responded to crimes in the city.
The Times reports Chief of Police Willie Shaw released the city’s crime stats on Wednesday.
Shaw said 2012 year was the third lowest year in overall crime the department has recorded in nearly 40 years.
The department investigated 20 homicides, the same as in 2011.
Robberies, both personal and business combined, increased 22 percent from 350 in 2011 to 428 in 2012.
