Oklahoma Weather Companies Settle Copyright Suit
Two private weather data companies in Norman have settled a lawsuit over alleged copyright infringement.
Weather Fusion LLC had sued Weather Decision Technologies Inc. last year, alleging that WDT used Weather Fusion’s copyrighted maps without permission. The Journal Record reports that the companies have settled the lawsuit, but details of the settlement are confidential.
Weather Fusion provides weather verification information for the insurance, roofing and construction industries, particularly focusing on hail.
According to its website, WDT offers expertise on forecast modeling, hazardous weather detection and prediction, mobile apps and interactive mapping, among other products.
