Mississippians Involved in Almost 1,500 Deer Collisions
Mississippi Transportation officials say there have been almost 1,500 traffic collisions involving deer this year, and this is the time to be on the look out.
Deer move more in the fall and winter in search of new food sources.
The Mississippi Department of Transportation says 135 injuries have been attributed to deer-related accidents in Mississippi in 2008.
Steve Adcock, chief of law enforcement for the Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks, says driver should be very alert, particularly at night, for deer on the side of the road.
