Obama Picks Kentucky Republican for Product Safety Board
The White House says President Barack Obama will nominate former Republican Rep. Anne Northup of Kentucky to a seat on the Consumer Product Safety Commission.
Obama is increasing the number of seats on the commission from three to five. The agency is responsible for policing the safety of a variety of consumer products, from children’s toys and cribs to power tools and household chemicals.
Northup was a member of the House from 1997-2006
