Alabama Man Charged With 20 Home Burglaries
Police say an Alabama man had been a very busy burglar until officers arrested him on charges of breaking into 20 homes across the city.
Ozark Police Chief Tony Spivey says the arrest closed out a five-month investigation into a rash or burglaries in which more than $100,000 worth of jewelry and other valuables was stolen.
The Dothan Eagle reports that police have charged 32-year-old Edward Scott McLeod, who was released from prison last July.
Spivey says McLeod has cooperated with investigators, admitted to some of the charges and told police he has a drug problem.
It was not immediately known if McLeod had hired a defense attorney.
