Mississippi Fire Department Buying Fire Truck
The Byram Fire Department in Miss., is adding equipment and planning for two new fire stations.
The Clarion-Ledger reports a new pumper truck will join its fleet by fall.
The truck will come from the Clinton Fire Department, which is selling the 1993-model truck to Hinds County’s youngest municipality for $15,000.
Byram Fire Chief Marshall Robinson said the city set aside $40,000 to buy and equip the truck. The city also applied for a grant to pay for two more pumper trucks.
The city in suburban Jackson incorporated three years ago.
