Denver, Colo. Airport Still Feeling Effects of Hailstorm
The effects of last week’s hailstorm are still being felt at Denver International Airport, where United Airlines canceled 13 more departures while it inspected planes for damage.
United says the 13 departures were canceled Sunday. All were United Express regional flights.
Airline spokesman Mike Trevino said he didn’t know if any arrivals were canceled because of the hailstorm.
Frontier Airlines said earlier it had cancelled a total of 96 flights from Saturday through Monday because 18 of its 59 Airbus aircraft and two of its turboprops were damaged by hail.
Frontier officials didn’t return calls on Sunday.
The Denver airport website showed about 37 Frontier flights to and from Denver were canceled at one point Sunday, but the reasons weren’t listed.
The hailstorm hit the airport Wednesday.
