Fire Causes $700,000 Damage to Washington Apartment Building
No one was seriously injured in a three-alarm fire at an apartment complex near Mill Creek, Wash., but at least a dozen residents of the Millwood Estates Apartments were displaced and damage is estimated at $700,000.
Snohomish County Fire District 1 spokeswoman Leslie Hynes says arriving firefighters found flames Monday morning coming from several units on the top floor of a three-story building.
Everyone got out safely. Firefighters helped some disabled residents.
One firefighter suffered a minor injury as was treated at the scene and went back to work.
Four apartments have fire damage and two others have water damage. Other residents of the 24-unit building can return tomorrow to their apartments.
