Wyoming Workforce Services Posts 9 Safety-Related Jobs

The Wyoming Department of Workforce Services is getting ready to hire nine people as part of its effort to turn around the state’s grim record for workplace safety.

The department announced Friday it has posted openings for seven workplace safety consultants. Recent legislation provided new funding for five of those jobs.

Two safety consultants will be based in Casper and one each in Cody, Evanston, Lander, Gillette and Rock Springs. They will enable the state Occupational Safety and Health Administration division to step up voluntary safety consultations at job sites.

Wyoming consistently ranks among the worst states for fatal workplace accidents.

The department also is seeking an OSHA compliance officer and an epidemiologist who will compile and analyze data on workplace safety in Wyoming.
