New Hampshire Fire Damages Amusement Rides, Antique Cars
A welding mishap in a Rindge, New Hampshire warehouse caused a four-alarm fire and thousands of dollars in damage.
Crews from nearly two-dozen towns responded to the warehouse fire on Route 119 near the Massachusetts border.
The building, owned by Fanelli’s Traveling Theme Park, contained amusement rides, carousel horses and antique cars. The cars were worth $250,000 and weren’t insured. It is uncertain the extent of damage to the other items.
Investigators say the fire started when a maintenance worker ignited a gas tank while using a welding torch. The explosion caused a large fire ball, catching one worker’s pants on fire. The man had third-degree burns, but told police he would take himself to the hospital if needed.
