Harleysville Insurance Names Young Chief Claims Officer
Harleysville Insurance has named Jonathan Young as senior vice president and chief claims officer. In this role, he will be responsible for all claims activities for the Harleysville organization, which includes oversight of the company’s home office central claims unit and its four regional claims service centers.
Young will report to Michael L. Browne, Harleysville’s president and CEO.
Before joining Harleysville, Young was the managing partner of the New York office of Sills Cummis & Gross P.C., and a member of the firm’s litigation practice group. Prior to that, he was the managing partner of Reed Smith’s New York office, and a member of the firm’s executive committee. He began his law career as a clerk to the Honorable Caleb Wright in the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware.
