SullivanCurtisMonroe Names Five New Owners
Irvine, Calif.-based SullivanCurtisMonroe Insurance Services LLC announced that the agency has five new owners. The new owners, who have joined William Curtis and John Monroe, currently hold managerial or senior vice president positions within SullivanCurtisMonroe.
“Our new owners, whose average age is 43 years old, bring vitality and passion to help grow SullivanCurtisMonroe in the decades ahead,” said William Curtis, founder and chairman.
“We recognize the importance of promoting within, rather than looking outside, to help grow in an industry that has seen its share of mergers and acquisitions. Our new owners will continue to honor the company’s long tradition of remaining privately held and will also keep an eye on the long-term, not just the quarterly, earnings,” said John Monroe, president and chief executive officer.
The five new owners, all who reside in Los Angeles or Orange County, include: Jeannine Coronado, Mark Eckenweiler, Michael Isaacs, David Kummer, and Larry Webb
Coronado is executive vice president and general manager of SCM. With over 20 years of professional experience in the insurance industry, Coronado’s primary focus is team management and leadership development.
Eckenweiler, chief financial officer, has more than 20 years of experience in the accounting profession. Prior to joining the company as a controller in 1988, Eckenweiler worked as an auditor at the accounting firm of Arthur Anderson and as a financial executive at Shearson American Express.
Isaacs joined the firm as an account executive nearly 10 years ago. As a senior vice president, he currently heads the Real Estate Practice for the company. He began his insurance career with Allstate in 1988.
Kummer, a senior vice president, has been with SCM for six years. David’s focus is commercial production. He began his career with Farmer’s Insurance in 1988 and also has a background in claims, underwriting and marketing.
Webb, a senior vice president, began his career in the insurance industry with Liberty Mutual. In 1990 Webb joined SCM as an account executive. His key areas of expertise include retail, manufacturers and large non-profit organizations.
Founded nearly 50 years ago, SullivanCurtisMonroe is a privately held insurance agency offering services in commercial property and casualty, employee benefits and personal lines. Based in Southern California, the company has nearly 200 employees with offices in Irvine, Pasadena, San Diego and the Inland Empire and generates over $350 million in premium volume.
